L’Etiopia orientale è molto diversa dal Nord e dal Sud
sia in termini di paesaggi naturali che di popolazioni, il territorio è
arido e molto secco, molte sono le genti nomadi e la maggior parte di essi
professa la religione mussulmana. Queste terre ospitano gli Afar e i
Somali, popolazioni forti e determinate capaci di sopravvivere in questi
ambienti così aspri. La maggior attrazione turistica è la città di Harar,
un’antica città sacra all’Islam famosa per le sue mura austere, come
centro di studio della religione mussulmana ( in città sono presenti 99
Moschee), come meta di pellegrinaggio e per i suoi oggetti di artigianato
finemente lavorati.
Dire Dawa costruita per essere un importante snodo ferroviario è oggi uno
sviluppato centro commerciale.
Gli aridi, semi-aridi territori e le savane del Parco Nazionale
dell’Awash, che attornia il vulcano spento del Fantale, risuonano giorno e
notte delle voci degli animali e dei canti degli uccelli. Nel parco si
possono ammirare le pozze delle sorgenti calde Filwoha, che sono una delle
attrattive maggiori del parco per l’incredibile colore azzurro delle loro
acque. Infine Hadar (meglio conosciuta come il sito archeologico dove è
stata ritrovata Lucy) e la Depressione Dancalica.
DA NON PERDERE PARCO NAZIONALE DELL’AWASH: una
delle riserve naturali più interessanti con oltre 300 specie di uccelli,
leoni, Grivet Monkey, Grivet Monkey, Greater Kudu, Swayne’s Hartebeest,
Anubis Baboon, Defaffa Water buck…
HARAR: le mura della città, la casa di Rimbaud, l’esibizione degli
uomini-iena, la riserva degli elefanti a Babile, e un posto unico,
Dakhata, meglio conosciuta come “La valle delle meraviglie” dove madre
natura ha scavato suggestive formazioni rocciose in un territorio di
origine vulcanica.

salati di Ramarri, Afambo, Bario, Lac Abbè
